What about the warranty?
In INMOTION Tuning we only use high-quality components from well-known firms like INTEL, AMFD, Texas Instruments or SG-Thomson with the original specification. That's why we can give you a 24 months' warranty for chip and software.
 

Can chip tuning be detected visually?
Definitely not. The tuning chip we install into your ECU cannot be distinguished visually from the original chip. The better performance can only be detected on a testbench or the driver himself. It cannot be detected by a diagnosis system of the garage or police, because we encode every tuning chip we produce.

Do I have to make any changes in my vehicle after chip tuning?
No. All other components of your car allow chip tuning without changes.


Will chip tuning influence the lifetime of my car?
By chip tuning none of the limits of the engine unit is exceeded. Therefore there should be no negative influences on the lifetime of your car.
 

Why doesn't the car manufacturer sell you a car with ideal settings?
The programme for your engine is stored on your chip (EPROM) and cannot be changed. As most car types are developed for the world market, the manufacturer has the difficult task to find a compromise solution combining different parameters like fuel quality, different emission standards, irregular service intervals, insurance conditions etc.


Why is chip tuning better than an additional blackbox?
Many tuners also offer an additional black box, sometimes also called chip tuning - which is not true because a blackbox may modify data only in an external way. It is installed between ECU and the injection pump, which means that you have to undo the whole wire loom.
These boxes only increase the fuel injection in a constant way and may not adjust any other parameters to increase the performance. As a consequence your car may get sooty and the engine may stutter. Engine heat can also affect the box and important parameters could change automatically during driving. At the same time every layperson could change easily the settings to values, which exceed the limits of your engine. Another disadvantage is that such a blackbox can be detected visually. Is it possible to switch back to stock configuration after the tuning?
Most chips are removable and can be changed within a few minutes, when you want to switch back to stock configuration, for example in case of sale.
 

Can there be problems with your chip?
Normally there are no problems with our products, whether chip tuning or OBD tuning. Less than 1% of our chips show errors - an almost absolute reliability compared to other technical products of similar complexity.
Still in many vehicles you may not notice any upgrade in performance after the installation of a tuning chip.

This is not a chip error!

In many car types (like Tdi 2.5) may occur massive problems with the air mass sensor, also called lambda sensor.
In most cases the defect of the sensor is not noticed until the vehicle is tuned because the air injection (by the sensor) is sufficient for a vehicle without tuning. Sometimes the performance of the vehicle has been getting worse constantly, without the driver noticing it.

Characteristic for a defect sensor are: sputtering, irregular accelaration, stron grime emissions (especially on hot summer days).

If your car shows one of the symptoms mentioned after the installation of the tuning chip it is probably the sensor which is defect, and not the chip.

 In this case, please contact your garage. They are usually aware of the problem and may help you to solve it. The best way is to change the sensor as it is difficult to find the defect by diagnosis.
